A rich, buttery, and creamy garlic shrimp dish made with juicy shrimp and a silky Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights ready in just 20 minutes and great over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Optional: pinch of chili flakes for heat
Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper (and chili flakes if using).
Return shrimp to the pan and let simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
Frozen shrimp works too just make sure to thaw and pat dry first.
For a keto version, serve over steamed broccoli or cauliflower rice.
