Creamy garlic shrimp

A rich, buttery, and creamy garlic shrimp dish made with juicy shrimp and a silky Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights  ready in just 20 minutes and great over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper (and chili flakes if using).

  • Return shrimp to the pan and let simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.

 

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.

  • Frozen shrimp works too just make sure to thaw and pat dry first.

 

  • For a keto version, serve over steamed broccoli or cauliflower rice.
