Creamy garlic shrimp

A rich and delicious creamy garlic shrimp recipe made with juicy shrimp, heavy cream, and parmesan. Perfect for weeknights ready in 20 minutes!

If you’re craving something rich, garlicky, and ready in under 30 minutes, this creamy garlic shrimp is your next go-to recipe. Serve it over pasta, rice, or crusty bread for a full meal.

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley (optional), for garnish

Instructions:

-Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
-Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
-Add shrimp, cook 1–2 mins per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
-Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer.
-Stir in Parmesan, and season with salt and pepper.
-Add shrimp back to the sauce. Let it simmer 2–3 minutes.
-Garnish with parsley and serve.

Storage Tips:

Store in airtight container for up to 2 days

Reheat gently over low heat to avoid curdling

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper (and chili flakes if using).

  • Return shrimp to the pan and let simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.

 

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.

  • Frozen shrimp works too just make sure to thaw and pat dry first.

 

  • For a keto version, serve over steamed broccoli or cauliflower rice.
