Cinnamon Roll Recipe: Soft, Fluffy, and Irresistible

Description

These homemade cinnamon rolls are soft, fluffy, and swirled with a buttery cinnamon-sugar filling, topped with a luscious cream cheese glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet indulgence any time of day.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1 cup warm milk

  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (for filling), softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon

    For Cream Cheese Icing:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Warm milk and dissolve yeast; let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt into yeast mixture. Gradually add flour until dough forms.

  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes, then let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  4. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.

  5. Roll tightly into a log, slice into 12 rolls, and place in a greased baking dish.

  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.

  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Mix icing ingredients until smooth and spread over warm rolls.

Notes

Best served warm for maximum gooeyness.

Can be prepped the night before and baked fresh in the morning.

Add chopped pecans or raisins to the filling for variety.
