  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese cubes

  • 810 slices bacon

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • BBQ sauce (optional, for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.

  2. Peel onions and cut them in half. Separate into large layers to create “shells.”

  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  4. Take one onion layer, fill with a spoonful of beef mixture, add a cheddar cube, then cover with another onion layer.
